Mail art by Esther Kamkar (Palo Alto, California, USA)
A big “Howdy” and a MinXus secret handshake are extended to Esther Kamkar in sunny Palo Alto who sent me this stellar asemic calligraphy that today graces this venerable blog.
A visit to Esther Kamkar’s blog is very worthwhile. Among other things, she is a poet. That could explain, at least partially, why she so clearly presents and explores the language and text-oriented aspects of asemics as well as those elements grounded in the visual arts. This emphasis is pronounced enough that it makes the piece far more than just another work of abstract art. Today, I even question the validity of the term “Asemic Art,” which I save seen lately.
Deepest thanks to Esther Kamkar!
